The 034 Motorsport 355x22mm 2-Piece Floating Rear Brake Rotor Upgrade has been specially developed for the Mk8 GTI / Golf R and Audi 8Y S3 / RS3 and offers significant improvements in braking performance. This kit replaces the original brake rotors and caliper carriers and is designed to work perfectly with the factory calipers. Thanks to the lighter design, each rotor weighs just 13.5 lbs, reducing rotating weight by 1.5 lbs per corner compared to the 15.0 lbs factory rotors. The larger rotor diameter, from 310mm to 355mm, not only provides shorter braking distances but also improves heat dissipation, which is essential for intense riding conditions such as street riding, track days, and HDPE events. These advanced brake rotors are equipped with 72 curved cooling channels that force air through the rotor to quickly and effectively dissipate heat. This helps prevent overheating and maintain performance even during prolonged, heavy use. The rotor design utilizes a floating mounting system, using strong steel bobbins to safely allow the rotor to expand and contract under high temperatures without structural damage or distortion. The rotor's central "hat" is machined from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum, resulting in a lightweight yet robust product. The rotor itself is made of a special metal alloy that can withstand the extreme temperatures encountered during heavy braking. J-Slot grooves on the rotor's surface enhance braking performance by keeping the brake pads clean of contaminants and minimizing gas buildup, contributing to more consistent performance.
