Airtec – Intercooler – Kia Ceed GT (JD – 1.6 T-GDi)

Description

Airtec Motorsport expands the Kia range with the intercooler upgrade for the Ceed GT 1.6T GDi (JD), suitable for both track use.

To ensure performance doesn't suffer during prolonged, intense riding, we've developed a larger, free-flowing front-mount intercooler that completely replaces the smaller, restrictive side-mount design of the OEM intercooler.

To make optimal use of the limited space behind the bumper, a much larger twin-pass core was chosen. This offers an increase in 125% in total capacity and a gigantic 239% increase in frontal area Compared to the original, the twin-pass design allows the boost to flow through the core twice before exiting, providing additional cooling and lower intake temperatures.

The complete set also includes a big boost pipe kit which relocates the original recirculation valve, and comes with all necessary silicone hoses, fixings and installation instructions.

This kit provides much more efficient cooling and flow than standard.

NB: There are indications that these engines may be prone to overheating or cylinder head gasket problems. It is the customer's responsibility to thoroughly check beforehand that the engine and cooling system are in good condition, before installing this intercooler kit and increasing performance.
