Description

In addition to the Airtec Motorsport front mount intercooler upgrade for the VAG MQB EA888.3 platform, it is now also available as a kit with upgrade boost pipes. This intercooler, with a 63mm core and high-quality cast end tanks, directly replaces the smaller and restrictive OEM system. Despite this improvement, the Airtec intercooler fits neatly behind the original bumper, without trimming or cutting. The boost pipes replace the narrower OEM boost pipes, which provides better airflow and more power.

The intercooler was dyno-tested and showed significantly lower air intake temperatures than the OEM version. With the Airtec intercooler, a massive 120-degree drop was observed, keeping temperatures much closer to ambient and more reliable on every run. This resulted in a dramatic performance improvement.
The hot side has a diameter of 63mm to maintain high airflow and reduce the effects of turbo lag on high-powered cars. The cold side boost pipes are a generous 70mm to maximize airflow.

NB: The Big Boost pipe set will NOT fit a 7-speed gearbox.
