The first section of the downpipe is a large 3.5 inch (89 mm) cast elbow which ensures an extremely smooth outflow directly from the turbo. This cast elbow is much stronger than a normal welded elbow. After the cast elbow, the downpipe remains completely 3.5 inch up to the flexible section. From the flexible section the pipe transitions into 3 inches (76 mm) and at the end the downpipe runs to the original exhaust diameter, so that he plug & play can be mounted on the original exhaust or center muffler. This design provides faster turbo spool, more torque and lower back pressure – exactly what you want with a tuned EA888.3 engine.
