Description

The TTE550 is a modern hybrid turbo upgrade from TheTurboEngineers, developed for the Porsche 930 and 964. This upgrade brings the classic air-cooled turbo engine to a contemporary performance level using the latest TTE turbo technology. Designed for a perfect balance of raw power, fast spooling, and long-lasting reliability, with outputs up to 550 hp.

The original KKK turbo forms the basis, but internally everything has been completely revised. The standard supercharger design is replaced by a billet-milled 7+7 compressor wheel (65mm inlet) with advanced geometry, resulting in higher air mass and improved efficiency across a wider rpm range. The standard heavy-duty 12-blade turbine is replaced by a specially designed TTE 9-blade high-flow low-mass turbine (2019 design), which delivers faster spooling, lower exhaust gas temperatures, and significantly less backpressure.

For optimal reliability, the TTE550 utilizes the proven BWTS bearing system, which guarantees long-lasting performance at high boost pressures. Each turbocharger is carefully balanced up to 250,000 rpm using TTE's VSR technology and comes with an official balance report.
