The Airtec Motorsport 2.5-inch Big boost pipe Kit (hot side) has been developed for the Ford Focus RS Mk2 and high-performance Focus ST225 builds that aim to get the most out of their turbo system. This kit replaces the restrictive OEM pipework between the turbo and Intercooler with a significantly larger 2.5-inch system, improving airflow and allowing the turbo to operate more efficiently.
Ford fitted both the Focus RS Mk2 and the ST225 with relatively narrow 2-inch boost pipes. As power output increases, these pipes become an ever-greater limitation. The Airtec solution replaces these constrictions with lightweight aluminium pipework of a larger diameter, resulting in less resistance and improved flow of the compressed air.
In tests, Airtec recorded a gain of 11.8 pk and 12 Nm of additional torque compared to the original Ford pipework. This gain was achieved simply by fitting the larger pipework.
All pipes are fitted with crimped ends to prevent hoses from coming loose at high turbo pressure. The kit is supplied with high-quality 5-layer silicone coupling hoses and all necessary fitting materials.
This version contains only the hot-side pipework (turbo to Intercooler) and is particularly suitable for vehicles with an output of approximately 375 pk or more. The kit was developed and tested on a Focus RS Mk2 with approximately 400 pk.
Please note: for the Focus ST225, the intercooler must have 2.5-inch connections. The original ST225 Intercooler has 2-inch connections and is therefore not suitable for this kit.
Please note: this kit does not fit the Airtec Stage 1 and Stage 2 intercoolers for the Focus ST225. Only the Airtec Stage 3 Intercooler has the correct connection diameter.
