This intercooler utilises a proven vertical 50 mm core, with air flowing from top to bottom through the end tanks. Thanks to this single-pass configuration, the Intake air travels a shorter route through the intercooler, which is ideal for engines with a smaller turbo where rapid airflow is essential.
A key advantage of the design is that it makes optimal use of the upper section of the intercooler, where the thermal load is highest. This section is fully exposed to the airflow for maximum cooling.
For even better airflow, additional openings can be cut into the grille during fitting using, for example, a Dremel or drill, so that more air is directed straight to the intercooler.
