The CTS performance Midpipes have been developed for the Audi RS3 8V and the Audi TT RS 8S fitted with the 2.5 TFSI engine. Most European versions of the 2.5 TFSI come with high-flow midpipes as standard; that is why CTS has developed a perfectly fitting and affordable option.
These 70 mm stainless steel midpipes replace the restrictive original midpipes, allowing the 2.5 TFSI engine to breathe more freely. They do not deliver a significant power gain, but the exhaust note improves considerably, with clearer pops and bangs in Sport mode. Comfort mode is not affected. Fitting takes less than an hour and all necessary hardware, gaskets and even a set of new clamps are included.
The midpipes have been 3D-modelled to match the original Audi sports exhaust fitted as standard on European models.
Why only without an OPF?
On a car with a particulate filter, this is where the filter is located, complete with a pressure differential sensor and a temperature sensor. These midpipes do not have connections for these, so they cannot be used on such a car. On the Audi RS3 8V and the TT RS 8S, later models were fitted with that filter, whilst the RS3 8Y has always had it.
The surest way to check is to look under the car for two small secondary catalytic converters. Due to production variations, this may differ from car to car, so please check this before ordering.
