The 3-inch CTS Turbo-back exhaust with a high-flow catalytic converter has been developed for the VW Golf 6 R. Since its foundation, CTS Turbo has been manufacturing performance parts for enthusiasts, by enthusiasts. The ongoing development of the Golf 6 platform is not limited to FMIC kits or turbo kits; this exhaust system is proof of that.
The system is hand-TIG-welded from the finest T304 stainless steel and is designed for both road use and heavy-duty big turbo applications. Other exhaust systems for the Golf 6 R20 2.0T can restrict peak power and limit airflow due to their 2.5 or 2.75-inch bore. The 3-inch design of this turbo-back system is ideal for those seeking serious power.
Every CTS Golf R Downpipe is 100% TIG-welded, constructed from 3-inch seamless T304 stainless steel and supplied with stainless steel clamps. Inferior products are either not made from stainless steel or use welded stainless steel, which can crack and corrode over time. The Downpipe replaces the original Downpipe, improves turbo Spool-up and increases peak power. The larger 3-inch pipe diameter allows the exhaust gases to flow out of the turbo and the Wastegate with less turbulence, resulting in more power and torque across the entire rev range. An upgraded Downpipe is a good idea for any turbocharged car, but as the Golf R comes factory-fitted with the powerful K04 turbocharger, this is a particularly effective modification.
