The CTS BOSS600 V2 turbo kit is the first genuine bolt-on turbo upgrade for MQB cars: the VW Golf 7 GTI and Golf R, and the Audi 8V S3 and 8V A3. Following extensive R&D, this modular turbo upgrade kit has been developed, capable of delivering over 600 hp with long-term reliability thanks to a genuine Garrett Gen2 GTX turbo. BOSS stands for bolt-on Speed Solution. This product has been succeeded by the CTS-TR-1010-76.
The Garrett Gen2 GTX turbo is mounted in a CTS-designed exhaust housing, carefully cast and machined to work with any exhaust Downpipe. The scroll ratio is approximately 0.63 AR, which provides good boost response without restrictions. CTS states: ‘Don’t be misled by other manufacturers who fit a larger turbo into an original housing; that makes no sense, which is why we’ve developed this in-house housing.’ A bespoke bracket for the Wastegate solenoid and proprietary oil and water lines ensure easy installation, tuning and trouble-free operation. Custom-moulded silicone hoses connect the turbo to the turbo outlet pipe and the Air Intake.
The kit currently works only with the CTS Turbo Inlet. Other intakes may also work, but no guidance can be provided on this. The kit is suitable for use with a CTS Turbo or another billet diverter or Blow-Off Valve. The original DV can be used with a wiring harness extension. Only an original or a CTS Turbo outlet pipe is suitable.
