The CTS lowering springs for the Mini Cooper, Cooper S and JCW F55 and F56 have a significant impact on handling and take performance to the next level. The car becomes more agile and feels lighter and more responsive, particularly in tight bends. This is a clear improvement on the factory set-up.
Thanks to carefully selected progressive spring characteristics, this does not come at the expense of ride comfort, certainly not at lower speeds. In fact, at lower speeds, the driving experience can actually improve. As soon as you steer the car through the bends, the Mini’s chassis really comes to life: more responsive, more direct and with noticeably sharper steering.
In addition, the springs alter the car’s appearance. They lower the front end by approximately 30 mm and the rear end by 25 mm, eliminating the unsightly gap in the wheel arches. The result is a Mini that looks exactly as it should have done straight from the factory. Do not go any lower or choose stiffer springs than these, as this will result in an uncomfortable car that bounces and jolts, because the dampers and spring characteristics no longer match and the spring travel is limited.

Frequently asked questions
Are these springs suitable for cars with DCC?
Yes. The springs are suitable for DCC and work well with the dynamic damper control, whilst maintaining handling characteristics across the different settings.
Should I lower the car even further?
No. Lowering the car further or choosing stiffer springs than these will result in an uncomfortable car that bounces and thumps, as the dampers and spring characteristics no longer match and the spring travel is restricted.
When does the car reach its final
ride height?
The final ride height is reached after a few days’ driving. Fitting of CTS chassis components must only be carried out by a qualified mechanic with experience in fitting chassis components.
