The Airtec Motorsport Air Conditioning Delete Kit has been developed for owners of a Ford Focus ST225 Mk2, Focus RS Mk2 or Volvo C30 T5 who want to get the most out of their car. Removing the entire air conditioning system reduces weight and lowers the parasitic load on the engine, resulting in a more direct response and more efficient power delivery.
The original air-conditioning compressor system constantly draws power from the engine, even when the air-conditioning is not actively in use. With this kit, the compressor is completely removed and replaced by a specially developed aluminium idler pulley assembly, which drives the accessory belt more efficiently.
The kit comprises a precision-machined aluminium pulley, CNC-machined mounting brackets, new multi-ribbed belts and all the necessary fitting materials to safely remove the air conditioning system.
As well as reducing weight, this upgrade creates more space in the engine compartment, which is particularly beneficial for track cars and heavily modified vehicles.
Please note: this kit has been developed for Motorsport applications and is not recommended for normal road use.
Please note: one sump bolt must be removed for fitting. Thanks to the Airtec bracket’s three-point mounting system, sufficient rigidity is maintained.
Please note: Airtec strongly recommends keeping the original skid plate fitted. This prevents water, dirt or stone chips from reaching the belts and pulleys, which could cause engine damage.
