The Airtec Motorsport 2-Piece Breather Kit has been developed for the Ford Focus ST and Focus RS Mk2 to permanently resolve a common problem with the original Ford oil filter housing. As power levels increase through tuning, the fragile diaphragm construction of the original housing comes under increasing pressure, which can lead to torn diaphragms, boost leaks and a loss of power.
The Airtec solution replaces the weak original system with a fully upgraded crankcase ventilation system featuring a modified and baffled Ford oil filter housing and a separate Airtec Motorsport oil separator. This allows the engine to vent much more efficiently without the limitations of the original system.
Unlike the OEM system, which recirculates vapours back into the Intake, this kit allows the engine to breathe more freely by venting crankcase vapours to the atmosphere. This makes the kit particularly suitable for cars used for sporty road driving, track days and higher power outputs.
The kit comes with high-quality, oil-resistant fluorosilicone hoses from Pro Hoses, specially shaped for an optimal fit in the engine compartment. In addition, all necessary stainless steel hose clamps, gaskets and fitting materials are included.
Important: as the engine is able to vent more effectively, existing wear and tear issues that were previously concealed by the original system may become more apparent. In engines with increased wear, more vapour or smoke may become visible after fitting. Airtec therefore recommends fitting this kit only to engines that are in good technical condition.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is this upgrade necessary?
At higher boost pressures and with engine tuning, the original Ford diaphragm in the oil filter housing can rupture, leading to boost leaks and a loss of power. This kit prevents that problem.
Why does this kit use an oil separator?
The oil separator helps to separate oil vapours and contaminants before they leave the ventilation system, ensuring more efficient crankcase ventilation.
Might I notice more vapour or smoke after fitting?
In engines with existing wear and tear, the improved ventilation may reveal problems that were previously hidden. Airtec therefore recommends fitting this kit to an engine in good mechanical condition.
