To overcome the limitations of the OEM Intercooler within the available space behind the bumper, Airtec has opted for a high-flow twin-pass core design. This core is wider, taller and deeper than the standard version, resulting in a significantly larger frontal area and a substantial increase in capacity. This allows the available airflow to be utilised to the full.
Despite the larger dimensions, sufficient airflow is maintained to the top of the radiator, which is essential for use in warmer climates. In combination with high-flow, one-piece moulded cast end tanks, the airflow is efficiently channelled and overall cooling performance is greatly enhanced.
