The Airtec Motorsport Stage 1 Intercooler Kit for the Ford Focus RS Mk2 has been developed for drivers looking for maximum cooling performance without compromising on fit or reliability. Thanks to the combination of a larger Intercooler and a complete 2.5-inch boost pipe upgrade, this kit offers a significant improvement over the original system.
To prevent power loss during prolonged use, Airtec has developed a much larger Intercooler that directly replaces the original unit. the intercooler utilises a 60 mm high-flow core that is almost twice as tall as the OEM unit and nearly 100 mm longer. This results in a massive increase in capacity and an impressive 127% increase in frontal area.
The integrated Air Ram Scoop forces airflow directly through the intercooler core, ensuring that charge temperatures remain significantly lower during sporty driving and track use. Combined with the smooth-flow end tanks and air guide, this ensures optimum airflow through the entire system.
The kit comes complete with a 2.5-inch hard boost pipe upgrade that replaces the original 2-inch pipework. The larger diameter reduces restrictions and improves airflow to the engine. During dynamometer tests, simply fitting the larger pipes yielded a gain of 11.8 pk and 12 nm of torque.
This Stage 1 kit is suitable for vehicles with power outputs exceeding 400 pk, making it an excellent basis for modified Focus RS Mk2 models.
The boost pipes included in the kit are supplied exclusively in Pro-Series Black. silicone hoses, however, can be supplied in various colours.
