the intercooler utilises a large 60 mm high-flow core that is almost twice as high as the original Intercooler and nearly 100 mm longer. This results in a massive increase in cooling capacity and an impressive 127% larger frontal area compared to the OEM system.
To make the most of the available airflow, the intercooler is fitted with an integrated Air Ram Scoop. This air guide forces cold air directly through the intercooler core, keeping charge temperatures significantly lower during sporty driving and track use.
In combination with the smooth-flow end tanks and the integrated air guide, the airflow is optimally distributed across the entire Intercooler. This results in lower Intake temperatures, more consistent performance and higher efficiency than both the original Intercooler and various aftermarket alternatives.
During dynamometer tests, the Airtec Intercooler managed to reduce the discharge temperature of the compressed air to just 29°C, whilst the original Intercooler reached 69°C and an aftermarket competitor still recorded 53°C.
