Airtec Motorsport Stage 2 front-mount Intercooler kit for the Ford Focus RS Mk1 2.0 turbo, developed for vehicles with an output of approximately 350 hp and above. An essential upgrade for any modified Focus RS looking to get the most out of its setup.
The original Intercooler system performs reasonably well on standard vehicles, but with increased boost pressure and higher power outputs, coolant temperatures rise rapidly. This causes the Air Charge Temperatures (ACT) to rise to levels at which the engine management system reduces power output and reliability comes under strain.
The Airtec Stage 2 front-mount Intercooler replaces the original charge cooler system with an efficient setup featuring a massive 100 mm high-flow core. This keeps Intake temperatures significantly lower, even under heavy load and at high power levels.
The kit comes complete with aluminium Charge Pipes, silicone hoses, stainless steel hose clamps, a battery relocation plate and all the necessary mounting hardware for a full conversion.
Installation takes an average of 4 to 6 hours and requires no grinding, welding or drilling. Nor does the turbo housing need to be modified.
Please note: this kit is designed for use with a K&N Gen2 Intake or similar system. The original airbox cannot be retained.
Please note: all Intercooler kits are supplied with a dump valve connection. If this is not used, it can easily be sealed off with a blind plug.
