The Airtec Motorsport Stage 2 Intercooler for the Ford Focus RS Mk2 has been developed for drivers who want to get more out of their car than a traditional Stage 1 setup can offer. Thanks to a larger Intercooler core and improved cooling capacity, this upgrade is ideal for more heavily tuned vehicles that need to maintain maximum performance under high loads.
To prevent power loss due to rising Intake temperatures, this intercooler utilises a large 65 mm high-flow core. The core is almost twice as high as the original Intercooler and nearly 100 mm longer, resulting in a massive increase in cooling capacity and an impressive 127% larger frontal area compared to the OEM system.
The integrated Air-Ram Scoop ensures that cold airflow is directed straight through the intercooler core. Combined with the smooth-flow end tanks and air guide, the airflow is optimally distributed, enabling the intercooler to operate significantly more efficiently under sustained load.
During independent tests, the Stage 2 Intercooler delivered impressive results. Whilst the Stage 1 Intercooler recorded an outlet air temperature of 34°C, the Stage 2 managed to reduce this further to just 26°C. In addition, an extra gain of 20 pk in the mid-range and 40 nm of additional torque was measured, simply by upgrading from Stage 1 to Stage 2.
the intercooler is finished in a durable Pro-Series Black powder coating and is designed for maximum reliability under demanding conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the Stage 1 and Stage 2 intercoolers?
The Stage 2 features a larger 65 mm core and offers even better cooling performance, lower Intake temperatures and more power than the Stage 1 version.
How much power gain does this intercooler deliver?
During testing, a gain of 20 pk in the mid-range and 40 nm of extra torque was measured compared to the Stage 1 Intercooler.
What does the Air-Ram Scoop do?
The Air-Ram Scoop forces airflow directly through the intercooler core for more efficient cooling and lower charge temperatures.
What type of car is this intercooler designed for?
This intercooler is ideal for more heavily tuned Focus RS Mk2 models that require maximum cooling capacity and consistent performance.
