For this Stage 3 kit, Airtec has adapted the popular Focus RS Intercooler so that it fits perfectly behind the Focus ST225’s bumper. In addition, the kit comes with a complete 2.5-inch Charge Pipe upgrade to replace the restrictive original 2-inch pipes.
the intercooler features a 60 mm high-flow core that is approximately twice as high as the original unit and nearly 100 mm longer. This results in a massive increase in capacity and an impressive 127 per cent increase in frontal area compared to the standard unit.
In combination with the smooth-flow cast end tanks and the integrated Air Ram Scoop, airflow is actively channelled through the intercooler for maximum cooling performance under heavy load.
The included 2.5-inch Charge Pipes significantly increase the internal diameter compared to the original pipes, reducing restrictions and improving airflow. In back-to-back dynamometer tests, this alone resulted in a gain of 11.8 hp and 12 nm of torque.

the intercooler is available in Pro-Series Black or Natural Silver. The Charge Pipes are supplied exclusively in Pro-Series Black.
Important for pre-facelift models: The pre-facelift Focus ST225 has a different radiator design to the facelift ST225 and Focus RS models. As a result, the left-hand (cold side) 2.5-inch silicone hose may run very close to the radiator bracket after fitting this Stage 3 kit.
To create sufficient space, Airtec recommends removing the bolt from the radiator bracket, moving the bracket slightly to the right and then drilling a new mounting hole before refitting the bolt. This is a simple modification that takes just a few minutes’ extra work, but is necessary to create sufficient clearance for the larger 2.5-inch cold-side hose.
If the available space is still insufficient after this, Airtec recommends switching to a Focus RS radiator, which offers more space around the pipework.
