The IE turbo exhaust pipe for the VW Golf 8 R and GTI and the Audi S3 8Y replaces the restrictive, tapered factory plastic pipe with an aluminium pipe of constant diameter, delivering 13.44 per cent more airflow than the standard version. This turbo exhaust pipe reduces turbulence immediately behind the turbo. The pipe is mandrel-bent and TIG-welded, features CNC-machined pipe ends with a rounded edge and grip-lock ridges, and is finished with a black powder coating.
All factory mounting points for wiring, coolant and fixing clips are retained, making it a complete bolt-in replacement without the need for permanent modifications. On the Golf R and S3, the integrated turbo silencer is removed when fitting this pipe. If you select ‘Yes, please’ for the ‘Upgrade turbo silencer’ option, the IE turbo muffler Delete (item number IETPDB3) will be included. If you select ‘No, thank you’, you will receive only the turbo exhaust pipe. Fitting takes approximately 2 hours using basic tools and requires the removal of the lower protective plate, a few plastic fixing clips and the radiator fan.
