The TTE440 is a high-performance turbo upgrade from TheTurboEngineers, designed for the Audi S3 8L, TT 8N and other vehicles fitted with the 1.8T 20V engine. Based on a heavily modified BorgWarner K04-064turbo from the 2.0 TFSI platform, this upgrade combines the power of modern TFSI technology with the tried-and-tested 1.8T engine — delivering up to 440 pk, depending on fuel and setup.
The TTE440 starts as a new, original BorgWarner K04-064 that is completely re-engineered by TTE. The standard compressor is replaced by a large billet 2871X compressor with next-generation geometry for massive airflow and improved efficiency. The turbine side features a 9-blade TTE High-Flow low-mass turbine, which ensures lower back pressure, cooler exhaust temperatures and a higher power build-up than standard K04 or shortened wheel variants.
The 360° TTE Motorsport bearing system offers maximum durability under high loads without compromising fast Spool-up. The turbo comes with a reinforced spring-loaded actuator, reinforced clamps and an OEM Pierburg N75 valve for reliable boost control. Furthermore, the kit includes CNC-machined components that enable fitting to the 1.8T platform, including an optimised manifold and customised hardware.
Each turbo is individually balanced using VSR high-speed balancing up to 250,000 rpm and supplied with an official balance test report.
