The TTE550 is TheTurboEngineers’ Stage 2 hybrid turbo upgrade for the Mercedes-AMG A45 with the 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine. Designed to deliver up to 550 pk, this turbo combines advanced technology, unrivalled reliability and a fully Plug & Play installation.
The original BorgWarner turbo forms the basis, but has been completely overhauled internally. The standard compressor is replaced by a larger billet-machined 7+7 wheel with extended tip technology, ensuring higher efficiency and significantly improved airflow. The compressor housing is CNC-machined to create a perfect clearance around the new wheel, significantly increasing the turbo’s efficiency.
On the exhaust side, a 9-blade high-flow turbine specially designed by TTE is fitted. This turbine reduces back pressure, lowers exhaust gas temperatures and enables higher boost levels without compromising service life. Its extremely low weight also ensures rapid Spool-up and smooth throttle response.
The TTE550 is fitted with an OEM 7-pad heavy-duty bearing system and a 360° thrust bearing for maximum durability. Each turbo is individually balanced at high speed (VSR) up to 250,000 rpm and supplied with an official balance test report. For optimum performance, TTE recommends an AMS Intercooler and replacing the OEM 50 mm corrugated hose with an MST 60 mm inlet.
