The TTE800+ is TheTurboEngineers’ first hybrid performance upgrade for the 4.0 TFSI platform and offers a significant boost in power whilst maintaining excellent responsiveness. This upgrade has been developed for the Audi RS6, RS7, S8, S7 and S6 C7, as well as the Bentley Continental GT V8 / V8S.
For the TTE800+, the original compressor impellers are replaced with larger TTE billet impellers featuring extended tip technology. The compressor housing is CNC-machined to optimal tolerances to make the most of the new impeller profile. On the turbine side, a trimmed (cut) turbine is fitted using a special TTE process, in which the blade tips are carefully adjusted to minimise stress. This increases gas flow, lowers back pressure and reduces exhaust gas temperatures, enabling safely higher turbo pressure.
An additional benefit of this process is the reduced rotating mass, which lowers inertia and improves Spool-up. The package is completed with the TTE upgrade bearing assembly for sustained performance under higher loads.
Balancing
Every TTE800+ turbo is first balanced at low speed up to 2,800 rpm in multiple planes. The complete CHRA is then high-speed VSR-balanced up to 250,000 rpm on TTE’s in-house VSR machine. This process results in a balance quality that is well above OEM standards. Each turbo is supplied with a numbered balance test result certificate.
