The Wagner Competition Intercooler kit takes the performance of the BMW 5 Series (G30/G31), 6 Series (G32), 7 Series (G11/G12) and 8 Series (G14/G15/G16) models fitted with B47/B57 engines to a whole new level. The Competition Tube Fin array with internal turbulators ensures excellent cooling performance with minimal back pressure.
With stepped core dimensions of 570 mm x 236 mm x 150 mm and a total volume of 16.2 litres, the intercooler offers a 70% larger cooling surface area (1,345 cm² compared to 790 cm² OEM) and no less than 112% more charge air volume (compared to 7.6 litres OEM), delivering cooler, denser air even at high outside temperatures. The cast aluminium end caps have been designed using CAD and optimised with CFD simulations to ensure maximum internal airflow. Despite its dimensions, the intercooler weighs just 10.5 kg. An anti-corrosion coating with excellent thermal conductivity ensures long-lasting cooling. Installation is plug-and-play (1:1 replacement) using the original mounting points, and the intercooler connects seamlessly to the standard charge air hoses. The kit fits the 518d, 520d, 525d, 530d and 540d (5 Series), 620d, 630d and 640d (6 Series), 740d (7 Series) and 840d (8 Series), all up to July 2020 (not for facelift models with the XD5O engine).
